It’s easy to get started with your Surface. Once powered on for the first time, Surface will lead you through a simple setup process that will make it truly yours.
Find a Wi-Fi Hot Spot
For the best experience setting up your new Surface, be sure to initially power on your device in an area with good Wi-Fi coverage. The TM Forum Management World has good Wi-Fi availability throughout the Nice Acropolis. Check your event materials for details on connecting to the Management World Wi-Fi access points.
To sign in to your Surface you need an account. For the best, cloud-connected experience, sign in with a Microsoft account —an email address and password. When you sign in with a Microsoft account, your Surface lights up with content from Microsoft services such as SkyDrive, Hotmail, Messenger, and Xbox, as well as your contacts and calendar from your email account.

A Microsoft account (formerly known as a Windows Live ID) is the email address and password that you use to sign in to Microsoft services like: Hotmail, SkyDrive, Messenger, Xbox LIVE, or Windows Phone. If you've used these services, then you already have a Microsoft account.
Add or Change Your Language
The Surface you received at the event may have come preinstalled with a language and locale that isn’t ideal for you. You can choose the languages to read and type in, as well as select your display language—this is the language you see most often in Windows and in your apps. Learn how to install additional language packs and select your display language.
