SWIFT, Payments and Financial Messaging Integration
Financial messaging for payments and cash reporting has changed significantly in recent years. Standards organizations are now increasing collaboration and interoperability in data flows and message structures, often around XML ISO20022. As message dictionaries become richer and more reusable, financial institutions have an opportunity to consolidate the management of their messaging infrastructure using tools that meet strict industry standards, yet give flexibility in defining workflows and straight through processing (STP) rules. Join us at Sibos 2011 and learn about the BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT, Microsoft’s SWIFT Ready Financial EAI product.
Business Intelligence
With current market conditions, financial institutions are focusing on corporate performance more than ever. Traders, brokers, insurers and branch managers face the challenge of managing their customer portfolios - staying on top of budgets and building confidence with customers so they will renew their commitments. Easy access to the right information across the enterprise is essential. The Microsoft Business Intelligence for Financial Services solution empowers financial employees by providing business intelligence and transforming that data so they can measure business and service performance and make better decisions.
Microsoft Cloud Computing
Cloud computing offers a revolutionary approach to technology services, with greatly increased flexibility in capacity, agility and cost options – offering insurance companies new efficiencies and new business opportunities. Join us at Sibos 2011 and learn about the banking industry’s revolutionary shift to cloud computing and Microsoft Windows Azure, the comprehensive solution for on-demand-scalable processing and storage.
Mobile Transaction Processing
The payment delivery channel and experience is a critical touch point in the relationship of a bank with its customers. Payment channels are increasingly valuable as a means of differentiating the banking experience, but also contribute to client retention and growth of new accounts. This is also the point in the payments lifecycle that is most prone to disintermediation by non-bank providers. Whether for retail or wholesale banking, Microsoft and its partners’ solutions are designed to deliver a more innovative payments experience that strengthens the customer relationship.

Developing a Best Practice Approach to Risk Management Without Failure
Tuesday September 20, 10.00
Sibos Open Theatre Two

Many firms need to improve their ability to analyse risk exposures, particularly to meet the requirements of Basel III and other regulatory requirements.  A good starting point is to adopt a more systematic and structured approach to data management. This requires the introduction of enterprise-wide business process management tools.  Ideally, all financial institutions will implement a set of robust, flexible tools that offer a combined solution to the twin challenges of risk management and legislative reporting.  However, before risk can be managed, it must first be defined.

This session will illustrate how financial institutions can more effectively manage risk through deployment of enterprise wide risk management tools and methodologies.

Speakers:
Cedric Le Rouzo, Risk Manager, Temenos
Joseph Pagano, Managing Director Banking and Capital Markets, Microsoft Worldwide Financial Services

Where's My Payment? Delivering Transactional Transparency
Wednesday September 21, 15.30-16.00
Open Theatre 1

As we modernize payment value chains, the requirement for real time analytics and business intelligence becomes more acute. Operations managers need to know about the state of payment operations regardless of client, payment type, delivery channel or settlement method. This is particularly so when clients are becoming better educated about the payments process, and have higher expectations about the level of service demanded from their banks. Corporate treasurers are particularly influential in driving requirements in this area. This session from Microsoft will explore best practices for implementing enterprise BI to deliver true transactional transparency.

Colin Kerr, Industry Solutions Director, Microsoft Worldwide Financial Services
