Sponsored by Iconics - The National Center of Measurement and Control of Hydrocarbons (CNMCH) is responsible for the real time monitoring, measurement and control of 80% the natural gas and petroleum production in Bolivia. The center, located in Villa Montes, monitors 250 locations, with over 6000 process points from the wellhead, to processing, to custody and transfer of liquid and gas products every 30 seconds. The ICONICS GENESIS™ and Microsoft based system brings in real time data from many dissimilar DCS and SCADA systems, from hundreds of locations, that include wellheads, pipelines and plants in Sábalo, San Alberto and Margarita. The 432-km GASYRG pipeline is designed to transport up to 34 MMm3/day of natural gas for export to Brazil and Argentina, and additional custody and transfer points of the sale of gas are monitored across Bolivia. The CNMCH provides production reports relating to transportation, export, faults, underutilization of plants, flare status, security breaches, and events, all while coordinating activities in the field such as maintenance, calibration and contracts. The centralized SCADA software is ICONICS GENESIS, a world-wide leader whose technology is used in the largest gas pipelines of the world. Base systems uses multiple Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, and Web based Internet Explorer clients. Currently being implemented is a Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Collaboration Portal system, using ICONICS and Microsoft Web parts.
