Microsoft SQL Server 2012 is coming, and with it new levels of confidence, insight, and cloud capabilities. This new version of our popular database software can help you retain flexibility in your database deployments.
We're here to help you choose the best licensing model and edition for your needs. And we want to make sure you understand the new licensing opportunities that SQL Server 2012 offers.
Choose the edition that's right for you:
Enterprise for business-critical applications and data warehousing.
Business Intelligence for premium corporate and self-service business intelligence capabilities.
Standard for basic database capabilities, reporting, and analytics.
Choose the licensing model that meets your needs:
We've simplified Volume Licensing for SQL Server. There are now two primary licensing models available.
Core Based: Licensed according to the number of physical cores in a server.
Server + CAL: Licensed according to the number of users or devices.

We're here to help
We know that deployments can be complicated and time-consuming. Streamline your SQL Server 2012 deployment by taking advantage of your SQL Server Deployment Planning Services (SSDPS) benefit. The SSDPS included in Software Assurance benefits is your opportunity to engage with expert Microsoft partners to develop a deployment plan based on your business needs.
Choose from three SSDPS options:
Upgrading to SQL Server: Create a deployment plan that helps you derive value from all your data, from birth to archival.
Deploying SQL Server Business Intelligence: Build a plan to empower information analysis in the right format, for the right people, at the right time.
Migrating to SQL Server from Oracle: Help reduce total cost of ownership by migrating from Oracle database technologies to a Microsoft data platform on Windows.
