|NEW ENTERPRISE ENROLLMENT FOR SERVER & CLOUD CUSTOMERS|
Business today is being transformed by trends such as cloud computing, big data, and the consumerization of IT. To support this new environment, Microsoft is evolving our licensing models to help fit your changing needs.
Server & Cloud Enrollment:
We are introducing a new cloud-enabled licensing vehicle under the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement. Available November 2013, our new Server and Cloud Enrollment (SCE) provides a range of benefits to highly committed customers, including new cloud-optimized licensing options, simplified license management and the best pricing and terms for your datacenter and cloud needs.
With SCE, you can standardize broadly in one or more categories:
|•||Core Infrastructure (Windows Server and System Center)|
|•||Application Platform (SQL Server)|
|•||Developer Platform (Visual Studio)|
When choosing any of the first three components, you also have access to Windows Azure at the lowest price available. Eligible customers may also qualify for premium benefits like Unlimited Support. This new enrollment simplifies license management and offers greater flexibility for you to move to the cloud on your terms.
For example, a customer who chose the Core Infrastructure component of the SCE would cover their Windows Server installed-base with Core Infrastructure Suite licenses (which include Windows Server and System Center) along with Software Assurance (SA). This customer will get the best pricing and terms on these products, a simplified licensing management experience and the great access to Azure described above. They will also get access to brand new subscription options which offer more flexibility when retiring workloads, consolidating, or migrating to the cloud.
Microsoft Enterprise Agreement The Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA) is an ideal solution for organizations with more than 250 devices or users. In addition to the ability to standardize with solution-focused technology suites via enrollments like SCE, an EA is the most cost effective way to purchase and manage licenses for your desktops, laptops and datacenter. It also provides access to the latest versions and services through Software Assurance benefits, the ability to easily add products and services to your enrollment at discounted pricing, flexible budgeting, help with training and deployments, and more.

SCE replaces EAP and ECI
Current Enrollment for Application Platform (EAP) and Enrollment for Core Infrastructure (ECI) customers are not impacted during the term of their existing agreement, but both enrollments are being retired with the release of SCE. If you are currently enrolled in either EAP or ECI, we recommend that you look into SCE as an option upon your renewal time to continue gaining access to the best available prices and benefits.
