Manage Your Licenses
Your licenses are an important part of your IT infrastructure. Managing your software properly helps you control costs, improve compliance, enhance security and makes your annual reconciliation True-Up process easier. Knowing what you have at any given time enables you to better supply the right software to the people who need it, improving your business efficiency. An accurate inventory can also help prevent overspending on unused licenses or coming up short on the numbers needed.
The True-Up Process
If you have an Enterprise Agreement, you can add additional software licenses as you need them, without having to fill out new orders or renegotiate your agreement. You can deploy additional licenses at any time—and you’ll only need to reconcile your agreement to your actual license usage once a year. This annual reconciliation process determines how many licenses you’ve used for each agreement and reports this information back to your Microsoft® Account Representative or Partner reseller. This feature of your agreement makes it easier to stay compliant while keeping the cost of licenses predictable. For more information please read the
True-Up Guide
.
Software Asset Management
Get the most out of your IT assets by actively managing your software deployments and entitlements with an effective Software Asset Management (SAM) strategy. Gold SAM Competency partners can help you with asset inventory and management tools and services.
