Read the following case study that is dedicated to illustrate how services can help protect the environment.
The Wakefield Metropolitan District Council Worksmart change program provides flexible work options for their employees. Through Microsoft® Services Premier Support, Wakefield acquired a resilient Microsoft solution for 8,000 employees, which is delivered by managed services that use Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. As a result of the Worksmart change program and the Microsoft remote office solution, the Council expects to contribute more than UK£4 million (US$7.9 million) in revenue savings for their organization and reduce carbon emissions by 35 tons.
After signing a Premier Support agreement with Microsoft Services, Worcestershire improved its service delivery planning and developed a robust technology roadmap. The organization has cut costs—each technician manages 400 desktops instead of 200—and has reduced its carbon footprint with up to a 40 per cent cut in support staff mileage.
