Valentine’s Day isn’t the only day in the year to show someone you care! My colleague Claire Lee spoke with one of our partners, ParcelGenie, and learned how they make gift giving simple.
Thanks to the ParcelGenie.com App, mobile users can now send real gifts in a few keystrokes, only needing the receiver’s mobile number. Unique to Windows Phone 7, this handy application offers a wide choice of real gifts. How does it work? The sender chooses a gift, selects a mobile number from their contact list and places the order. The recipient receives an instant SMS alert with the sender’s personal message and then registers his or her delivery address. The gift is dispatched and a real, beautifully packaged present arrives at his or her door.
“We offer the ability for Windows Phone 7 users to ping a real little Valentine to anyone with a mobile phone. It’s a great way to send something that’s romantic or flirty in a spontaneous way. Every gift comes with a personal message, or you can use one of our fun ‘love messages’.”
Dr John Taylor, CEO of ParcelGenie
UK ParcelGenie is already being used to drive instant gift messaging services on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Says John Taylor: “Phone 7 is an exciting opportunity to provide a simple yet addictive service for mobile users that brings a new dimension to mobile communications.
ParcelGenie is also part of the Microsoft BizSpark programme that helps early stage start-ups by providing them with software and support when they need it most.
Microsoft has been supporting Europe’s SME's and start-ups just like ParcelGenie, to grow and succeed with cutting-edge technology, access to marketing expertise, financing streams and intellectual property licensing, and advocacy for a more dynamic policy framework for entrepreneurship.
