Efficiency and Opportunity: how the Cloud is powering Future Government.

This year, the Government Solutions Forum in Rome brought together partners, customers and international public sector experts. During the 2 days of the event, participants discussed ways to deliver more effective citizen services, showcasing a wide range of ideas and solutions.

The needs

In the current economic climate, citizens look to their governments for strong leadership and innovative services. The public sector needs to address societal challenges and deliver more efficient services at national, regional, and local level in Europe, in a more cost effective way.

The challenges that countries and communities need to face are growing more complex by the day such as the impact that globalization has on economies and the environment, the emerging security threats, or the need to provide vital and technologically advanced services to citizens.

Ideas & Solutions

The public sector institutions can now harness the power of cloud technology in order to respond to the above challenges and needs. The internet and cloud computing make sharing information effortless, and supports public sector in ensuring an optimal economic, educational and healthcare environment while delivering high quality services to the digitally active citizens.

This year’s Government Solution Forum in Rome examined the new challenges that the current economic climate brought to delivering effective citizen services. The event showcased a wide range of solutions, the partners who developed them and the governments around the world who used them to deliver real benefits to their citizens through the innovative use of the Microsoft platform.
