Protect yourself!

If you purchased your new copy of Windows XP from a retail shop, it should have come in a colourful retail box (shown left). Look for the Certificate of Authenticity on the box top. Microsoft never distributes software on a stand-alone CD-ROM.

Take a look

If you recently purchased a new PC with Windows XP preinstalled, you should have a Certificate of Authenticity label on your PC chassis.
Look for the following anti-piracy elements on your Certificate of Authenticity label. It helps you know you are getting software that is legal, fully supported and has been properly installed.
