Microsoft offers a minimum of 10 years support (five years of mainstream support plus five years of extended support) for Exchange 2000 Server.

Mainstream support originally ended on December 31, 2005 but has been adjusted to end January 10, 2006.

Extended support began January 1, 2006, and runs through January 1, 2011. Extended support:

Includes all paid support options as well as security-related hotfix support, which is provided at no charge

Does not include non-security-related hotfix support. If you have Software Assurance, you can purchase a separate Extended Hotfix Support contract within 90 days after mainstream support ends for non-security-related hotfix support. For the details, read the Enhanced Extended Hotfix Support Benefit page on the Microsoft Volume Licensing site.

Does not include requests for warranty support, design changes, or new features.
