We will offer additional benefits to registered users over time, so after registering, be sure to check the Registration Benefit Portal frequently for the latest updates. Registered users will be able to access benefits at any time after registration.

Availability

These registration benefits will become available when the Express Editions are officially released. Registration benefits for English versions of the Express Editions are available beginning on November 7, 2005. Registration benefits for localized versions of Express Editions will become available 1-3 months after the November 7, 2005, English language launch.

How do I register?

• To register any Visual Studio Express Edition, simply run your Express Edition and click Help -> Register Product.
• To register SQL Server Express Edition, please click here.

What to Expect

Registration will take a few minutes of your time. We have deliberately kept the registration form as simple as we can.

• The registration process may include an e-mail to you to confirm your e-mail address, prior to taking you to a Web page containing your registration key.
• With your registration key, you will be able to unlock your Express Edition for unlimited, ongoing use.
• You will have the opportunity to opt-out of all subsequent communications from Microsoft and our partners. But if you do so, we will be unable to tell you about new offers made available to registered users of Visual Studio Express Editions.
• After registration, you will receive a benefit e-mail with a link to the Registration Benefits Portal. At the portal, you will be able to access all registration benefits for the product you have registered.
