Live and On-Demand Smooth Streaming with IIS

Smooth Streaming allows viewers to enjoy a compelling, uninterrupted streaming experience wherever they might be watching. By dynamically monitoring both local bandwidth and video rendering performance, Smooth Streaming optimizes playback of content by switching video quality in real-time. Viewers with high bandwidth connections and modern computers can experience up to full HD 1080p quality streaming, while others with lower bandwidth or older computers receive the appropriate stream for their capabilities.

GPU Encoding

Offloading some of the work to the GPU can radically increase the number of streams your PC is capable of delivering as well as providing an accelerated encoding process (up to 3 times faster depending on the source content and the hardware you’re using). What this means in the real world is a standard PC equipped with NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA technology and Expression Encoder Pro can give you the power of a hardware solution without the associated cost.

Silverlight Template Support

Take advantage of the richness of Silverlight with templates. These allow you to publish video on the web quickly and easily. Not only will it look great, but the templates allow you to play back DRM-encrypted content, design playback controls, display thumbnails, add text, and even play your video offline. Now available for live broadcasts too!

Live Screen Capture

Expression Encoder’s screen capture capability has been enhanced with the addition of live screen capture. This means for the first time you can deliver live computer based training and demos using Encoder’s high quality screen capture as the live video source.

Editing

Need to edit your video before publishing? With Expression Encoder, you can crop, trim and cut media, add visual overlays and metadata, and use A/B compare to preview your output to deliver the best experience possible for your viewers.
