Quickly experiment and explore different ideas

Quickly experiment and explore different ideas

SketchFlow, a feature of Expression Studio Ultimate, gives you the ability to quickly and effectively map out and iterate the flow of an application UI, the layout of individual screens and perhaps most importantly for modern applications the transition from one application state to another. This ability to explore and test multiple ideas without investing large amounts of time ensures you are able to find the right solutions for your clients.

Keep clients focused on the end goal

Keep clients focused on the end goal

Clients often find it difficult to focus on the important issues when looking at a conceptual idea. Commenting on issues such as font styling or whether particular colors should be used rather than the overall functionality of a screen and application. SketchFlow keeps clients focused on the goal, creating an application that solves their business need. The built in ‘sketch’ style controls SketchFlow uses enables clients to concentrate on the overall concept of a solution instead of focusing too early on the detail.

Gather effective feedback from client testing

Gather effective feedback from client testing

The freely distributable SketchFlow player ensures that your prototypes can be demonstrated effectively to your client. Clients can test multiple scenarios and provide comments for the development team by annotating their experience as they navigate the prototype.

These client annotations are visible in-context on the design surface within Expression Blend®. Surfacing feedback where it can be immediately acted on enables updated concepts to be rapidly presented to the client.

Make the prototype as real as a project demands

Make the prototype as real as a project demands

With SketchFlow there is no limit to how far you can push your prototype. Simply make the prototype as real as a particular client or project requires, evolving it over time from static, to interactive, to finished project.

The SketchFlow ‘sketch’ style can be replaced easily with a pixel perfect rendering of the UI by simply replacing the style template of the components. Static screens can easily have interactivity added, transitions can be refined and the fidelity of the prototype can be increased as appropriate.

Traditionally prototypes are redundant after the concept phase and are discarded. With SketchFlow you can take your prototype in three different directions. Throw the prototype away and simply move your ideas into new production project, extract out the individual assets you want to move forward into production or transition the whole prototype forward into production.

With SketchFlow the choice is yours and the choice you make can vary from project to project.
