  1. Fixed position elements

Content with CSS fixed positioning may appear in several places in the SuperPreview for Internet Explorer display.

  2. Flash and ActiveX objects

Because SuperPreview for Internet Explorer does not render Flash, ActiveX, or other object content, a region that contains an object may not be displayed at the same size as it would be displayed in a browser (depending on the underlying HTML and CSS). Set width and height dimensions (in pixels) for each DIV tag that contains an object tag to help mitigate this problem.

  3. Script-triggered layout changes

Layout changes triggered by asynchronous JavaScript or other Ajax content may not render.

  4. Login-controlled pages

SuperPreview for Internet Explorer does not prompt users for login credentials and so cannot access pages that require authentication, such as those controlled by an .htaccess file.

  5. Right-to-left language rendering

Using HTML to set the text direction to right-to-left causes rendering issues in all browsers.

  6. Internet Explorer 8 Beta

SuperPreview for Internet Explorer is incompatible with Beta and Release Candidate (RC) versions of Internet Explorer 8.

  7. Selectable elements

Children of an HTML element with CSS overflow property set to hidden, auto, or scroll may be selectable in the SuperPreview for Internet Explorer browser view, even though they may not be visible in the rendered page.

  8. Framesets

HTML elements inside frameset pages are not selectable or visible in the DOM tree. Open the frameset pages individually to display them.

  9. Timed meta redirects

SuperPreview for Internet Explorer does not follow meta redirects that have a time interval greater than 0. Instead, navigate directly to the desired page with SuperPreview for Internet Explorer.

  10. Element display size for quirks-mode pages

Quirks-mode pages may display the body and html element height and width incorrectly. Elements inside these tags are unaffected.

  11. Security certificate errors

Pages that display security certificate errors in a browser will not display unless the certificate has been approved in the browser.

  12. Cookie behavior

Cookie behavior is inconsistent between browsers. Because SuperPreview for Internet Explorer relies on locally installed browsers, it will sometimes read and write local browser cookies.

  13. Visited link display

Some links for Internet Explorer may display as "visited", depending on the user's Internet Explorer browser history.

  14. Scrollbar display

Scrollbars may not be displayed in some SuperPreview for Internet Explorer browser views for pages with frames, iframes, or other large, scrollable regions.

  15. PSD image preview

DirectX must be installed on your computer before you can compare a web page to a PSD image.

To install DirectX on your computer, visit the Microsoft Download Center.
