Updates available now for Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant

The Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant is available at Exchange Server 2013 Deployment Assistant. It now includes the following scenarios:

Upgrading from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

Upgrading from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013

Configuring an Exchange 2013-based hybrid deployment for Exchange 2007 organizations

These new scenarios provide step-by-step guidance about how to upgrade your existing Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010 organizations to benefit from the improvements and new features of Exchange 2013. Plus, Exchange 2007 organizations can now configure a hybrid deployment with Office 365 using Exchange 2013 instead of Exchange 2010 SP3 in their on-premises organization.

The Exchange Deployment Assistant for Exchange Server 2013 is available

The Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant is available at http://technet.microsoft.com/exdeploy2013. As we have done with the Exchange 2010 Deployment Assistant, we will release scenarios in phases.

The first scenarios available show you how to deploy Exchange 2013 in an organization with no previous installations of Exchange, configure a hybrid deployment between your on-premises Exchange 2013 organization and Office 365, or migrate your on-premises organization completely to Office 365.

We’re working hard on releasing additional scenarios soon, such as upgrading from Exchange Server 2007 and Exchange Server 2010. If you’re interested reading about how to upgrade your existing on-premises Exchange organizations to Exchange 2013 before the additional step-by-step scenarios are available, check out our currently available upgrade guidance for Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010.

Status update for Exchange Deployment Assistant for Exchange Server 2013

The Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant is on the way! As we have done with the Exchange 2010 Deployment Assistant, we will release scenarios in phases. When we release (expected in the next few months), the Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant will include guidance for:

New Exchange 2013 on-premises installations

Deploying Exchange 2013 on-premises hybrid with Exchange Online

Migration guidance to move fully to Exchange Online

We will follow with the release of additional scenarios for both on-premises and hybrid deployments from other versions of Exchange.

The Deployment Assistant will allow you to create Exchange 2013 deployment instructions that are customized to your environment. The Deployment Assistant asks a small set of questions, and based on your answers, it provides a set of instructions that are designed to get you up and running on Exchange 2013. Instead of reading dozens of topics in the Exchange 2013 library, you simply answer a few questions, and the Deployment Assistant will give you customized content to install Exchange 2013.
