Microsoft Partner Proposal Process

Thank you for your interest in doing business with Microsoft. Microsoft has developed a submission process to consider strategic partnership proposals. The process is designed to provide you with a comprehensive decision from Microsoft in a timely manner. To better assess strategic opportunities, business development teams across the company execute a common review process to thoroughly evaluate whether partnership proposals fit their high-priority initiatives. To enable us to understand your business and your proposal quickly, we've automated the submission process. This process requires you to register as a Microsoft partner (no cost involved), if you haven't already, and that you submit a summary proposal online through the Microsoft for Partners Web site.

Submitting a Proposal

  1. Registration
To submit a partner proposal, you must be registered on the Microsoft partner Web site. Please have your Windows Live ID and password ready, if you have previously registered. If you have not previously registered as a Microsoft partner, the proposal process guides you through registering. If your company is a registered Microsoft partner but you have not completed an individual registration, your company's profile administrator will need to approve you for access. Once your administrator provides approval, you will receive an e-mail and you can proceed with your submission.

  2. Confidentiality
Please note that your communications should not contain confidential information. You will be asked to digitally acknowledge that your submission does NOT contain any confidential or proprietary information.

  3. Ideas and Concepts
To prevent any misunderstandings as to the origin of ideas, Microsoft does not accept proposals regarding early-stage concepts or ideas that are not yet in market through an established company.

  4. Proposal Content
Once you have logged on as a registered partner, you will be able to submit your proposal online.
Note To ensure we can route your request to the appropriate business development managers, please select ISA Server from the product list.

The Web site will then give you the opportunity to enter text in response to a set of questions. Please be sure to address the following additional points in your submission:

  • Describe the synergy with Microsoft security products. Be sure to include a concise technical summary of the integration your product currently has (or that you propose) with any Microsoft security product and specifically with ISA Server. For reference, review the ISA Server 2006 Software Development Kit documentation.

  • Describe which other security products you support and how you support them.

  • Identify the technology platform you build on.

  • Include the names of your top three competitors.

  • Give examples of some of your key customers.

Next Steps

To submit a partner proposal for evaluation, following the preceding ISA Server–specific guidelines, please go to the Microsoft for Partners site.

After you complete your submission, we will assign a lead business development manager to manage the Microsoft Opportunity Management review process on your behalf. You will receive notification regarding the status of your proposal within 30 business days.

Once again, thank you for your interest in doing business with Microsoft.
