Microsoft, States Submit Last Filings before Final Arguments
Yesterday, Microsoft provided U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly with its proposed Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law in the case against the nine states that refused to join the bi-partisan settlement reached by Microsoft, the U.S. Department of Justice and other state plaintiffs.

Microsoft summarized its case against the holdout states and outlined the many reasons the court should find against the states: Microsoft demonstrated that, in addition to the non-settling states' proposed sanctions being fatally flawed, they far exceed the case's limits, established last summer by the U.S. Court of Appeals.

The nine holdout states also submitted their counter-proposal to the court. Final arguments take place on Wednesday, June 19. Stay tuned for more trial information from the Freedom to Innovate Network.

While this phase of the Microsoft trial nears its end, antitrust remains a critical issue affecting consumers and the future of technology. Stay informed about the progress of the trial and other critical policy debates that impact consumers, competition and the future of technology.
