New Mexico Settles Microsoft Antitrust Lawsuit!
New Mexico Attorney General Patricia Madrid has announced she is settling New Mexico's antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft. In a statement issued earlier today, AG Madrid explained her decision and expressed anticipation that New Mexico's action would lead the way toward settlement by other suing parties:
"To my mind, this matter is now ripe for a speedy resolution," Madrid said. "It is time to settle this case and move forward. Microsoft has been one of the primary engines driving the 'new economy' and has delivered significant benefits to our nation's citizens….I am encouraged by the initial steps that Microsoft has taken to provide computer manufacturers greater flexibility."
