Why You Should Join the Freedom to Innovate Network

The world of technology moves fast. Every year, Microsoft and thousands of other technology companies launch new products that benefit consumers and businesses around the world.

Government plays an important role in setting policies that help technology thrive. And every legislative session, elected officials make decisions that impact how we operate, innovate and succeed.

That’s where the Freedom to Innovate Network comes in. Microsoft created the FIN to ensure that elected officials hear from technology professionals and allies on critical policy debates. FIN members include consumers, Certified Partners, technology professionals, employees and shareholders. Here are a few reasons why you should join:

Consumers
For the last three decades, the high-tech industry has brought thousands of great products and services to consumers everywhere. Hardware and software have grown increasingly powerful and more affordable. Good public policy promotes open competition, which in turn helps keep the technology industry moving forward. As FIN members, consumers can learn about critical technology policy debates and share their experiences with elected officials. You’ll also have the opportunity to advocate for policies that support marketplace competition and consumer benefits.

Certified Partners and Technology Professionals
It’s important for lawmakers to hear from technology professionals about policies that impact our industry. Public policy can affect how your company grows and prospers in an increasingly networked world. The FIN provides Microsoft Certified Partners and technology professionals the opportunity to bring your expertise to important public policy debates.

Microsoft Employees and Shareholders
Like other high-tech companies, Microsoft benefits from public policy that encourages investment in technology and promotes free market competition. Members of the Microsoft community, including shareholders and employees, have a direct stake in the success of the company. The FIN helps you stay informed about critical public policy issues and add your voice to the debate.
