Commentary
What's an RPG without a castle, a dungeon, armor stands, a giant gate with a portcullis,
and a slavering 12' tall Talking Lizard carrying a staff?
Uh...wait a sec...ok, scratch that last one.
One of the Mad Doc artists created the gate node early in the project. We all sat
around at his computer staring in wonder at what he had wrought. It was one of the
first times we really appreciated what we could do with the Dungeon Siege Engine,
and how beautiful the game could look. To some extent, it set the bar for the whole
region, and we started to talk about the approach to the gate, so we rebuilt the
area so you got a good view. Then we had to do some work on the inside of the gate
(you actually see the gate from both sides in the game). Later, we added an NIS
(Non-Interactive Sequence) showing off the geometry and the giant Lizard, and then
we had to work on the battle against Nosirrom, the Lizard King, because such an
impressive location demanded a fierce battle. Once again, one team member's work
inspired the others and we ended up with a whole greater than the sum of the parts.

Creatures
The creatures noted below are just two examples of the many indigenous beings
adventures may encounter while traveling through this region.

Zaurask Zombie
Nosirrom isn't content to order his minions to their death. After they
die he insists they serve him still, and he can raise his Zaurask army from the
dead to attack you a second time.

Gobbot General
The Goblin Inventor hasn't been idle, though no-one's really sure what
he is doing in league with the Zaurask. Certainly, he's up to no good. The latest
round of gobbots do more damage, take more damage, and cause more mayhem than ever.
