What’s the worst or weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Delivering rolls of film, then the next day delivering developed pictures, all
around central Illinois. My route was about 300 miles/day.
How long have you been on Games for Windows - Live?
Since October, 2008 but on the LIVE network (via Xbox) since 2003 I think it
was.
What’s your PC set-up like? What type of graphic card do you have? What
size monitor?
At home, I use a MacBook Pro 17" unibody and dual boot into Vista. At work, I
use a thundering tower of a big rig that shakes the ground when the startup
chime sounds.
What is your favorite LIVE-enabled game?
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II.
What is your favorite PC game?
Ooh, tough one actually. I'll go with the easy answer of my latest craze Call
of Duty: World at War because of the Nazi Zombie level, which I play
entirely too much to be healthy.
What do you think is the best game of all time? (console, PC, or arcade)
Computer: World of Warcraft. Tabletop: Dungeons & Dragons.
What do you think is the best film of all time?
I'm torn between Alien or the Lord of the Rings series. Commentaries for each
are wonderfully enlightening and add to the overall experiences of both films.
What do you think is the best album of all time?
I don't listen to enough music to really say. That's kinda lame, but music
usually distracts me unless it's some kind of lyricless ambient techno.
What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard on Games for Windows - LIVE?

What is your greatest Games for Windows - LIVE moment?
Saving the day in the Nazi Zombie level of Call of Duty: World at War.
What’s your favorite TV show?
The two-gun justice of The Daily Show followed by The Colbert
Report.
Who is your inner rock star?
Hello Kitty. Except she doesn't have a mouth, so I guess that wouldn't work out
too well.
If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?
Me! I'm ready for my closeup.
What’s your karaoke/Rock Band song?
I've never done either so I can't really say.
What cartoon character do you think is most like you?
Samurai Jack. It's always the quiet ones...
What super power would you like to have?
The manipulation of Dr. Manhattan. I figure if I could do what Dr. Manhattan
does, I could pretty much duplicate any other power(s).
If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?
Well, I would say astronaut on a space walk but I don't
have astronaut training so I'd kill myself and probably the whole crew and wreck
the vehicle to boot. So I'll just say billionaire so I could write a generous
check to my fine friend Eric Haddock.
Who's your favorite Superhero?
I've always liked Dr. Strange.
If you could be any video game character, who would it be?
My mage Abethany in World of Warcraft. I've certainly spent enough time
with her that I think I know her pretty well. Wait, that kind of came out a
little dirty...
What’s the worst food you’ve ever eaten?
A steak authentically prepared in a German restaurant covered in some sort of
... something. It was a centimeter thick dull gray/yellow mucus-like material
somewhat akin to putrescent puss. It was that something that nearly made me
throw up at the table, no joke. Worst food experience of my life and I'll never
forget it.
What’s the last book you read?
The God Delusion, by Richard Dawkins.
If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?
I don't listen to enough music to really say.
What do you predict will be the 'next big thing' in gaming?
Digital downloads eliminating discs almost entirely, to the point where DVDs are
a novelty or a special order.
What is the Games for Windows - LIVE Achievement that was hardest to
get?
Any of the ones I got in Hour of Victory. That game ... it's a test of
many things: one's soul, one's humanity, one's ability to wade through a morass
so heavy that you would have to be a complete achievement whore to do any of the
achievements ... like me, who's on the second play through of the game.
What would you like to be doing in ten years?
What I'm doing now, which is writing about games.
When and how did you get hooked on PC Gaming?
When I found out I could dual boot into Windows on my Mac a couple/few years
ago.
If you could have one wish granted specific to PC gaming, what would it
be?
Have every game playable in windowed mode. Not every game offers it, but every
should, and not all of those that offer it actually do it well enough to be
useful. Having it is sweetness but not having the option is like a poke in the
eye.
What game(s) are you looking forward to the most?
The unknown Blizzard MMO. I'm just dying to know what genre it is (I wouldn't
mind steampunk, myself).

Since October, 2008.
What do you do for Games for Windows?
I'm the primary writer.
What's written on the board behind you?
It's the famous couplet by H.P. Lovecraft:

From the story The Call of Cthulhu. H.P.L. is my favorite author and I
didn't know what else to put there.
