Getting Around
Navigate your way
around the Games for Windows
- LIVE application by using the
following options:
Marketplace
-
Visit the Games for Windows
- LIVE Marketplace to buy
Microsoft Points, redeem codes, download game
demos and add-ons, watch video trailers,
and teasers, and much more.
You can change how games are
sorted on the marketplace by selecting any one of
the filters shown under Browse Catalog:
All Downloads includes
everything available for download
Game Demos are demonstration
versions of games that allow you to take a sneak
peek at a game.
Game Add-ons are items that you
can download for a game you have. For example, new
levels or new weapons.
Game Videos are video trailers
of games

Click the Play button to watch the
videos.

Delete them permanently from your hard drive
by clicking on the Remove button. (If
you delete a video it will be erased from
your hard drive but will remain in your
purchase history so you can easily download
it again if you want to.)
Downloads
-
Keep track of your Active Downloads as well as
all of the items you have already downloaded.

Monitor the progress of any active download
on the right hand side of the screen.
Pause,
Resume or Cancel the download by clicking
the appropriate button on the right of the
progress indicator.

If there is not enough disk space available
for your download, you will receive a popup
window requesting you free up sufficient
space and then re-launch the download.

Whenever you order items from the
Marketplace, your download will
automatically be added to the Downloads page
in the order in which it was purchased.

If you try to quit Games for Windows
- LIVE while one or more
downloads are in progress, you will be given
the option of pausing the download, or
allowing it to continue in the background
after the program has closed. Pause
and then Cancel the download if you
do not want to do this. If you chose to
continue your download will be completed but
you will need to click the Install
button the next time you open Games for
Windows
- LIVE.
My Account
-
Add Points
allows you to add more Microsoft Points to your
account and to see how many Microsoft Points you
have remaining.
Redeem Code allows you to redeem any
offers you may have. Enter the number you have
been given and then click Redeem.
Manage Payment Options allows you to
change the credit card information that you have
associated with your account.
Gamer card
-
Your gamer card will always be displayed
during your gaming sessions on Games for Windows
-
LIVE. It shows your gamertag, gamer picture, reputation
and gamerscore.
Right-click your
gamer card to sign out.
Settings
-
Manage your folders to change the location of
downloaded content.
