This error will occur if the computer hard drive does not have enough disk space to download and install the item.
First, check your hard drive space.
- Open Computer and right-click on the C:\ drive.
- Click Properties.
- Make sure you have enough disk space to for the download. Please note that Windows requires space for Virtual Memory. If your drive is nearly full, you will need to free up space before downloading the item again.
- If you are installing the product on another hard drive, also check that drive's disk space.
If you have significant free hard drive space, then files may be corrupt on your system. Follow these steps to resolve this problem.
- Close all browser windows and programs open on your system. On the System tray, right-click on each icon and exit the program.
- Next, empty the Games for Windows – LIVE cache and also the Windows TEMP folder.
- Click Start and then Run.
- For Windows XP, in the Run box, type: %USERPROFILE%\local settings\application data For Windows Vista
or Windows 7, in the Run box, type: %localappdata%\Microsoft\GFWLive\Downloads.
- Press Enter to open the Downloads folder.
- Delete the contents of this folder.
- Close all windows.
- Click Start and then Run again.
- In the Run box, type: %WinDir%\TEMP.
- Press Enter to open the TEMP folder.
- Delete the contents of this folder.
- Close all windows.
- Restart your computer system.
- Open the Games for Windows software and now try downloading and installing the item again.
- If you are able to download and install other content but not this file, please contact the game developer for further assistance.
- If you are unable to download and install any files, uninstall Games for Windows – LIVE software from the Control Panel in Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features.
- Repeat Steps 1 and 2.
- Run Disk Clean Up and then Disk Defragmenter by clicking Start, All Programs, Accessories, and System Tools.
- Reinstall the Games for Windows – LIVE software, which is available through Windows Update.
- Now try downloading and installing the item again.
