While there's much to be said for the loving accuracy of titles such as NASCAR 2 and F1 Racing Simulation, you can't deny the immediate and visceral appeal of a game that slaps you into the driver's seat, kicks you in the ass and demands that have a good time...especially when it's done as beautifully as this one.

- "It's one of the keys to MTM2 in that you are not constrained to the road before you. Unlike the preponderance of racing games that keep you within the invisible confines of a narrow track, bouncing off ethereal walls if you happen to stray too far from the track, MTM2 literally begs the player to deviate and stake out your own route."
- "Unlike a lot of other racing games, the AI trucks of MTM2 are dealing with the same physics and challenges of the player, so if they try something a little edgy they run the risk of paying dearly for the action."
- "I had the opportunity to test MTM2 over the Zone, playing some of the designers and producers on the title, and I had a total blast."
- "Graphically, MTM2 raises the bar for racing games, especially when powered by a 3D accelerator."
- "Every skid across the mud, every dip into a pool of water, every hard landing after a towering jump simply feels right...especially when you find yourself fighting for control."
- "If you're lucky enough to own a Force Feedback joystick then you'll find MTM2 making full use of the features."

5 OUT OF 5 STARS
"The idea behind this game is fun, and delivers it without reservation. The original Monster Truck Madness was an extremely entertaining game, and the sequel ups the ante in many ways."
"I can't say enough good things about this game."
"Bottom Line: Just an all-around great game. The trucks and landscapes look fantastic, the engine is smooth, and the sound effects and music top it all off nicely. There are plenty of configurable options, from simple arcade physics to a more challenging style of play."

"Simply put, these are the best racing graphics I've seen on a PC!"

- "Even in its unfinished state, with 12 new tracks, nine new flavors of truck, variable weather effects, and some of the best jaw-dropping graphics I've ever seen in a racing game, Monster Truck Madness 2 is looking like everything I hoped for and more."
- "So, when Microsoft announced that Terminal Reality was at it again to develop the sequel, you can imagine I was totally psyched. I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel of Bigfoot once more, and to hear the authority of announcer Army Armstrong."

"After playing MTM2 I am so anxious to play the final build I'm almost
wetting myself. It's that impressive! It's very obvious Terminal Reality has listened to
the complaints other similar games have got and are going out of their way to make a
very fun and challenging game. The build I played felt like a final product! I have
only one wish on my list for this title - I do hope a track editor is included in the
final version. But even if it is not it looks to be on hell of a game -- even if you're not into the Monster Truck thing you'll still be hooked once you play this game due to it's addictive gameplay and the overall fun factor. "

"MTM 2 has some of the best gameplay I have seen in a long while, anyone who doesn't want to ride around in a large truck, destroying everything along the way is a fibbing in a big way.
Force Feedback support is probably the best I have used, and it's in beta still. Hitting trucks you really feel it, going over rail tracks, you feel it, crashing into cows, you feel that too."

"A new graphics engine that implements the latest 3D effects and advanced accelerated hardware and processor technology including Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP), makes possible spectacular 3D rendered tracks, trucks and scenery. Gamers who own 3D accelerator cards will experience faster frame rates and improved scenery graphics. Gamers who own force feedback devices will literally feel the action."
From
GameWatcher
"The game's new, spectacular 3D graphics engine makes 12 new tracks, nine new trucks and dynamic scenery come to life. Monster Truck Madness 2 utilizes the latest 3D effects, making use of the most advanced accelerated hardware and processor technology, including AGP. Other changes include night driving; variable weather (rain, snow and ice racing); force feedback joystick and wheel support; and deformable trucks that crush when damaged."
