Commerce

Commerce research will cost you Timber and Knowledge at the Library. You can continually research Commerce (as with all Library techs) without advancing in Age, but you must complete a certain amount of Commerce research in order to advance in Ages.

When you complete Commerce research, your Commerce Cap goes up for all Resources you gather: Food, Timber, Metal, Oil, Wealth, and Knowledge. You can gather more of them up to the Commerce Cap; surpass the cap and any excess is simply lost to you. To increase your gather rate, assign more Citizens to the workforce, or research Science and the efficiency upgrades at the Granary, Sawmill, and Smelter.
