PORTRAIT

Nessie (also known as the Loch Ness Monster) has been living in Loch Ness, a lake near Inverness, Scotland, for 1,445 years. She’s 17 meters long, weighs 10 tonnes, and is classed as a „cryptid“ like Yeti and Bigfoot. Privacy is incredibly important to her. Tourists either don’t see her at all or think her humps are just tires. There’s only one authentic photo of her, but she thinks it makes her look “too old.” She works for Internet Explorer because she wants to stamp out phishing.

Living Habits:
Nessie loves diving and exploring the bottom of the lake. As a strict vegetarian, she has to eat a huge amount of greens every day to maintain her ideal weight. She regularly reads “The Times” when tourists leave it lying around and she’d like to surf the Internet more often, but she’s worried about making everything wet and getting on other people’s nerves.

Food:
Marsh marigolds, water lilies, blancmange.

Favorite Drink:
Sherry.

My Secret

Unfortunately, it’s now virtually impossible to enjoy a quiet glass of sherry in Loch Ness. All those tourists! But my private life is nobody else’s business. That’s why I avoid making waves when I swim. That sounds easier than it is—it took me hundreds of years to perfect my technique. Don’t try it at home though.

Top Tip
I’m delighted to work with Internet Explorer 8 to combat phishing because I think it’s a disgusting habit. We developed this wonderful SmartScreen Filter—I highly recommend you use it:

SmartScreen-Filter
Just switch on the SmartScreen Filter in Internet Explorer 8 to protect yourself from phishing and other malicious attempts to steal your personal details or harm your computer. You’ll find it under the “Safety” button in the menu. The filter can be activated or deactivated anytime. What’s more, you can even make the Internet safer by using this tool to report suspicious websites. Very smart!
