What's new in Expression Encoder 4 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
This service pack includes many new features to improve encoding performance and flexibility, as well as bug fixes and stability enhancements. Offloading some of the work to the GPU can radically increase the number of streams your PC is capable of delivering as well as providing an accelerated encoding process (up to 3 times faster depending on the source content and the hardware you’re using). What this means in the real world is a standard PC equipped with NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA technology and Expression Encoder Pro can give you the power of a hardware solution without the associated cost.
Live Template Support
With a click of a button you can deliver compelling, higher quality live broadcasts to your users through a rich, interactive Silverlight template. No hand-editing of HTML necessary.
Live Screen Capture
Expression Encoder’s screen capture capability has been enhanced with the addition of live screen capture. This means for the first time you can deliver live computer based training and demos using Encoder’s high quality screen capture as the live video source.
Caption Updates
Caption support has been refined and now enables you to add captions to Live Smooth Streaming videos as well as on-demand.
Improved De-interlacing Options
Additional de-interlacing methods are now available including “Selective Blend,” which provides similar video quality to “Pixel Adaptive” while using considerably less CPU load. You’ll also find all de-interlacing methods used in Transcoding now available in Live mode, contributing to better video quality.
DRM Content Key
Configuring your PlayReady license server for DRM content just got easier with support for DRM Content Keys in addition to KeySeeds.
HE-AAC Codec
Use the HE-AAC codec to deliver highly compressed audio files without sacrificing quality.
Live Push/Pull
