Keith Olinger

Senior Director, U.S. State and Local Government

​Keith D. Olinger serves as Sr. Director in Microsoft’s Public Sector Business.  His team has responsibility for the architecture of IT infrastructures for State, City, County and local Public Sector entities across the United States.

Olinger joined Microsoft in 1996 as a Principal in their worldwide consulting organization.  He has served in both consultative, architecture and sales roles across Microsoft’s commercial and public sector businesses, and understands the unique challenges of each. 

Prior to joining Microsoft, he founded a Chicago based IT consultancy focusing on IT systems and infrastructure architecture, as well as engineering and management solutions consulting.  His 28 years of IT and entrepreneurial experience includes both public and private sector work covering healthcare, manufacturing, energy, financial/banking, retail, and state & local government among others.  He has published written works as well as commercially available software.

Olinger holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Technology and Economics from Eastern Illinois University, along with Graduate work at DePaul University in Chicago.

He and his wife, and their three children reside in Saint Charles, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.
