Guy Ron is the Defense and Public Safety industry manager in Microsoft Asia. Based in Singapore, Guy is responsible for strategically engaging the Asia Defense and Public Safety market, defining Microsoft’s strategy and vision, and assisting Customers in transforming their organizations’ mission-critical operations in response to emerging threats and challenges.
Guy joined the Asia team in 2008. Prior to his current role, Guy was a consulting services manager for the Defense and Homeland Security industries in Israel, where his responsibilities included selling and managing consulting services and turnkey solutions for the Israeli government sector as well as setting up and leading a regional information security team for Middle East & Africa (MEA) specializing in cyber security and security development lifecycle. Guy joined Microsoft DPE (Developers & Platform Evangelism Division) in 2002 as a Senior Platform Strategy Advisor for the Defense and Homeland security industries, where he drove platform adoption programs and led major design wins.
Guy began his career as a software development lead with the Israeli Defense forces where he spent six years in the Israeli Air Force in developing aerial and land C4I solutions. He later spent 15 years in various research & development, consultancy, and business development roles at defense system integrators and global companies such as Intel Corp.
Guy graduated from Bar-Ilan Technology College, Israel, and the Israeli Air Force Academy with degrees in Software Engineering and later graduated from Ben-Gurion University, Israel, with a Bachelor of Science, Information Systems Engineering. Guy is married to Smadar and has a daughter, Romi, and a son, Noam.
