Microsoft for Public Safety & National Security

Greetings from WPC 2012

11 July 2012 | Jennifer Steele, Senior Marketing Manager, Worldwide Public Sector

The 2012 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) is in full swing, and it’s never been more exciting!

More than 16,000 attendees from more than 156 countries have come together in Toronto this week, making 2012 the largest WPC ever. As Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in his Monday keynote, “It’s not just talk. It’s real. It’s happening. It’s here.” Partners are at the heart of the new age of Microsoft – working together to produce innovations and solutions that drive forward a better, safer global society.

Whether or not you’re joining us at the conference, you can stay connected with news and announcements through the Microsoft Press Pass and the WPC digital newsroom, which also includes videos and photos from the event. You can also follow WPC and the national security team on Twitter, like WPC on Facebook, join the WPC LinkedIn group, and explore all the great resources available at DigitalWPC.

And, if you’re at the show, be sure to take advantage of the WPC app, which can help you keep track of your agenda, search for and message attendees, and access information right at your fingertips. Here’s how to use it:

1. Go to the Marketplace here and download the app.

2. Locate your Registration Identification Number located in your confirmation email. (Your Registration Identification Number is also the last 6 digits of your confirmation number which can be found when you log-in to register.digitalwpc.com. Should you encounter trouble, just click on the “forgot password?” link.)

3. Browse and use these informative tiles:

  • Agenda: Sort by track and search by date and session.
  • What’s On Now: At the event, this will inform you what is happening in the next time slot.
  • My Schedule: You’ll be able to track your schedule and add to it.
  • Speakers: Look up speaker information.
  • Plus attendee search, maps and venues, sponsors and exhibitors, info center, messaging, evaluations, the WPC contest and more.

Have a great week!
