Modern cities demand modern public safety solutions

27 February 2013 | Jennifer Steele, Senior Marketing Manager, Worldwide Public Sector

Confronted with the constantly looming threats such as natural disasters, infrastructure distress, organized crime, and emergency event management, officials in cities, towns, and local communities around the world are facing tremendous challenges to ensure citizen safety on a daily basis.

Last week, Microsoft on Government featured a post from Dr. Andrew Hawkins highlighting ways that a diverse range of communities – from the City of New York to the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention – have leveraged modern, flexible, and cost-effective technology solutions to meet these demanding circumstances. I encourage you to check out his post for insight into this important issue and some great examples of innovation in action for national defense and public safety.
