R. Erdem Erkul is the Regional National Plan Manager, Legal and Corporate Affairs, at Microsoft’s Middle East and Africa Headquarters. Previously he was Manager and Director of Public Affairs & Corporate Citizenship at Microsoft Turkey.
Formerly a researcher at the National Center for Digital Government, which was established at Harvard University in 2002 in USA, Erdem focuses on implementing digital government as a public policy. He runs www.digital-government.net, an international e-government portal that he started in 2008.
Erdem is vice president of the Turkish Informatics Association; on the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies in Brussels; a member of the World Academy of Science, Engineering, and Technology's Scientific and Technical Committee; and a peer reviewer to the European Journal of E-practice.
Erdem was awarded a certificate of completion for the Innovation for Economic Development Program, June 2013, Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Executive Program. While at Harvard, he studied Public Policy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
