As governments around the world look to cloud computing as a way to cut costs and improve efficiency, it’s important to seek a trusted, established provider. Microsoft continues to innovate in the cloud with products like Office 365, which are earning recognition from industry experts, customers, and press alike.

We’re proud to share a few of the awards that Office 365 and other cloud solutions won in 2011. For instance, Office 365 recently won “Best desktop application” in the V3 Technology Awards, and was highly commended in the IT Pro Awards’ “Business software product of the year” category. Microsoft as a firm also took home several awards, including V3 Technology Awards’ “Enterprise software firm 2011,” IT Pro Awards’ “Vendor of the Year,” and CRN Channel Awards’ “Software Vendor of the Year.”

Learn more about how we are helping our government customers reduce costs, deliver better services, and become more efficient with our cloud products and services. For example, Albania’s National Agency for the Information Society used Microsoft to create a private cloud solution, reducing server provisioning time by about 70 percent and boosting productivity by between 50 and 70 percent. New Zealand’s Western Bay of Plenty District Council is using Microsoft Office 365 to simplify scheduling and improve collaboration with council members, and theLondon Borough of Lewisham has increased savings and revenue by approximately £150,000 with a cloud-based tool that helps citizens improve their environment.

As we continue to develop and deliver great products and services, Microsoft looks forward to supporting our partners, customers, and the industry in 2012!
