Capabilities and infrastructure in the public safety sector are strained by complex responses to terrorism, intelligence gathering, and natural disasters. Now more than ever, it pays to know about technological solutions that can help improve public safety efforts.
We’re pleased to announce that for the fourth year in a row, Microsoft is holding its Worldwide Public Safety Symposium (PSS), an event dedicated to helping public safety professionals leverage technology to improve disaster response efforts.
The symposium, which will be held March 13-15 in Redmond, Washington, will amongst other important areas for first responders and law enforcement organisations, focus on the hot topics of social media in public safety, cyber security and digital crime, and operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Through the words of fellow public safety officials, the main goal of the symposium, which last year attracted more than 350 attendees from 32 countries from around the world, is to help fire and rescue, police and homeland security officials hear, see, learn and discuss how to maximize technology to gather the right information faster from diverse sources, manage and analysis vast volumes of data, securely share with other officials in real-time, and display it dynamically whilst building a common operational picture which in turn helps public safety officials make more informed decisions and prevent and combat threats to national security and public safety, utilize scare resources, and mitigate and respond to emergencies and natural disasters in a timely and coordinated way.
Specifically, the symposium will increase awareness of how on-premise and cloud technology can support public safety organizations, and provide practical and cost-effective solutions, technologies and services that can be used to improve operational effectiveness and administrative efficiencies.
Each day, we will offer breakouts for first responder and law enforcement personnel, covering topics that include the following:
Criminal intelligence and Investigation
Digital Forensics & Laboratory Management
Simulated Training Exercises
We invite high-level senior operation staff, policymakers, and strategists from around the world to attend the symposium, where Microsoft and our partners will be showcasing practical solutions that can be used to address challenges in public safety and national security. We hope you will consider joining us.
