How do I share and import macros?
Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center macros use a .mhm extension and are saved as individual files in your default Documents\Microsoft Hardware\Macros subfolder.
Caution
- Only use macros from trusted sources.
- Do not save passwords or other sensitive information in macros.
Share a macro
- On a computer that has Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center installed, copy the macro .mhm file to the default Documents\Microsoft Hardware\Macros folder.
Import a macro
- On a computer that has Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center installed, copy the macro .mhm file to the default Documents\Microsoft Hardware\Macros folder.
- Start Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center and select the device that you want to use.

Click the button or key you want to configure to run the macro.
The macro you copied appears in the Available Macros list. If the new macro does not appear in the list, click Open folder to open your Documents\Microsoft Hardware\Macros folder and make sure that the macro is there.
