Compliance Directives

Microsoft supports the manufacture of electronic products with reduced hazardous substances and the proper recycling, recovery and handling of waste associated with those products. At a minimum, we implement strict policies to ensure that our products and packaging fully comply with the requirements of each government’s jurisdiction in which we do business. This includes compliance with the WEEE and RoHS Directives issued by the European Union (EU).

The letter and chart supplied below provide product specific information about compliance with the RoHS directive. This directive restricts the use of certain materials in products sold on the EU market, effective July 1, 2006. Please use the letter and attached product chart to determine the RoHS status of our products. If the product is listed, you may use the letter and chart as our certification that placing the product on the EU market is appropriate under the RoHS directive. If a product for which you are seeking information is not identified, please contact your Microsoft Hardware Account Manager for further information.
