Providing the optimal technology foundation for e-health solutions to help address health organisations’ most pressing challenges and enable better, more efficient care.

To help address health organisations’ information management challenges, the Microsoft Connected Health Platform (CHP) provides the foundation for capabilities such as enterprise content management (ECM), enterprise search, communication and collaboration tools and business intelligence (BI).

The Microsoft CHP includes offerings for Optimised Desktops and Devices, Optimised Servers and Data Centres, Security and Compliance, and Health Integration and Interoperability. These offerings provide tools, solution accelerators, prescriptive architecture design and deployment guidance to help information and communications technology (ICT) departments in health organisations:

  • Deliver an efficient, connected infrastructure. Integrated and interoperable technologies provide the foundation for aggregating data and streamlining processes so health professionals and patients and citizens can efficiently access an integrated view of information and collaborate across the health ecosystem to improve care and health outcomes.
  • Improve service levels for users. Scalable, service-based technologies are highly available and adaptable to allow changing organisational and user needs - whether staff, patients or citizens - to be quickly and easily met and support workforce mobility.
  • Help increase security and compliance. Integrated protection, access and management technologies provide the foundation to enable health professionals, patients and citizens to access information from various locations with the appropriate security and protection features to help safeguard patient, health and organisational data.

The Microsoft Connected Health Platform is based on the extensible and agile principles of the Microsoft Connected Health Framework Architecture and Design Blueprint and primarily built on Microsoft Application Platform technologies and services and Microsoft Infrastructure Optimisation models and tools that have been specialised for health. These infrastructure technologies can be built, deployed and managed on-premises, in the cloud or as a hybrid of both.
