Sam Robinson

National Director, U.S. Health Plan Industry, Health and Life Sciences

Sam Robinson is the National Director, U.S. Health Plan Industry, with Microsoft Health and Life Sciences. In this role, Sam is responsible for Microsoft’s strategy, execution, and public presence for health plan organizations that use current and future Microsoft-based technology to solve real-world issues across their enterprise. 

Sam has over 20 years in information technology and more than 15 years in healthcare information technology experience. In addition to his position with Microsoft Sam currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Healthcare Trends Institute.  Prior to joining Microsoft, Sam held various positions in the healthcare software industry including: Chief Technology Officer for Eclipsys Corporation, Chief Technology Officer for Transition Systems, Inc., as well as several other roles within the industry including Director of Development, Manager of Development and Customer Service Technical Advisor. He has also held various healthcare consulting positions responsible for analysis, design and implementation of Medicaid information systems.

Sam earned a Master of Science in Information Systems from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas in Austin.
