WHIE is proud to be entering its fifth year of clinical operations, supporting ED linking, public health syndromic surveillance, and other business and clinical needs. Data aggregated at WHIE, including state Medicaid claims, 51 hospitals, more than 120 associated clinics, two federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), and a Medicaid managed care organization (MCO), is used to support more informed decision-making in 13 EDs and public health applications in Milwaukee and Wisconsin Department of Health Services Division of Public Health. Recently, community care coordination was improved through the integration of MyHealthDIRECT and WHIE. MyHealthDIRECT is a web-enabled scheduling solution that allows Milwaukee ED staff to make patient appointments with primary care physicians, helping patients establish and maintain health homes.
