Microsoft Donates Software for Computer Recycling Scheme
Jointly initiated by both Microsoft Hong Kong Limited and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), 20,000 Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Works licenses were donated to a recently held Computer Recycling Scheme. The software licenses, together with donations from other partners under the scheme, benefit thousands of students from Primary One to Form Seven who cannot afford computers and Internet connectivity at home.
The event was presided over by Mrs. Fanny Law, the Permanent Secretary for Education and Manpower, and Ms. Christine Fang, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Microsoft's involvement is a part of the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) program, a global program created to promote digital inclusion by helping under-served communities gain access to low-cost technology solutions.
Further details of the Scheme, donation or application procedures can be found at the Scheme's website: http://www.pc-recycle.hk.
