My special Vista moments
Posted on Sunday, December 30, 2007

With the success of the DIY X'mas movie under my belt, one thing led to another and I'm now a certified DIY movie junkie! Lately, everything I see conjures up vivid movie potential in my mind and now watching my home made specials on the PC monitor no longer fulfills my thirst for more. The quest is on for the big screen and I'd like to share how my first big screen moments went with the help of Windows Vista.

Last weekend, my best chums, who are now official DIY movie enthusiasts as well (thanks to the X'mas movie I made of them) came over to check out my latest movie project shot at the Wan Chai Wet Market, and which I edited using Windows Vista. With 6 burly guys crowding round my PC, it wasn't long before one of us started complaining about the size of the screen. With no immediate solution at hand, we were close to skipping the viewing when one of my chums who just started using Vista suggested to watch the movie on my 42" LCD TV in the living room instead using Windows Vista.

Now, why didn't I think of that before?! Of course Windows Vista can do that. I jumped from the couch to kick start the Windows Media Center to connect the PC in my bedroom with the TV. And finally, my final cut of the street scenes, accompanied by some Cantonese oldies, came alive on my LCD TV. I was so excited. It was actually the premiere of my first serious movie. The feeling I had was indescribable!

Of course, our old boys' gathering wouldn't be perfect without some video gaming. With the convenience of a single remote on Windows Media Center, we launched our favourite PC game and partied through the night, along with some rock music to spice up the party.

So far, this holiday has been absolutely amazing. Happy moments are even greater when they are shared, right? With Windows Vista, I can create, enhance, preserve, relive and share all the great memories with my friends and family in a brand new way. What a revolution!
