Final Champion will advance to the Microsoft Imagine Cup Worldwide Finals in Paris, France!

| The Software Design Invitational challenges students around the globe to test, and build their creative ideas into applications that can change the world by protecting our environment. This is the only Imagine Cup invitational that is run locally. Once you win your regional finals you will advance to the Microsoft Imagine Cup Worldwide Finals in Paris, France in August 2008. |

| Who Can Enter? |
| Anyone who is 16 years of age or older at the time of entry, and is actively enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university/postgraduate (or equivalent) degrees any time between January 1st, 2008 and May 1st, 2008. PhD students are also welcomed; however, you are not allowed to use your research work for your application unless it is equally accessible to all Imagine Cup competitors around the world. |

| Final Local Champion: Cash Prize of HKD 12,000 plus travel and accommodation to attend the Worldwide Final competition in Paris, France where you can get a shot at some great cash prizes: USD 15,000 for winning the Software Design Worldwide Finals and additional cash prizes for winning any of the other 8 Worldwide Invitationals! |

First Round Competition - Project Concepts Presentation
First Round Finalists will be invited to present their project concepts at Microsoft Hong Kong. The presentation will last 20 minutes followed by a 10 minutes Q&A session. Second Round finalists will be announced within one week.

Second Round Competition - Project Presentation and DemonstrationEach Second Round Finalist Team is required to submit a sample application, with an overview document explaining the solution and how it relateds to the theme of this year. The deliverables are as follows:

| - | Project specification with no more than 5 pages |
| - | One page executive summary |
| - | Visual representation of system architecture. |
Each team is required to email their project to hkic@microsoft.com before 1 May. After the submission of project, teams are required to present and demonstrate their project in front of judge panel and guests. The presentation will last 20 minutes followed by a 10 minutes Q&A session. Presentation and demonstration will be held in mid May and the Final Round Finalists will be announced before end of May.
