Now that Microsoft® Server Championships 2007 has come to an end and we've found our winning team in the Ultimate competition, we would like to thank you for your participation and express our gratitude for your contribution to the great success of this event. This year we had a total of 120 students took part in the Microsoft Server Championships. They had gained first-hand experience of the latest Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft Office SharePoint® Server 2007. They also had a great chance to go for those fantastic job opportunities and internships. This year's Microsoft Server Championship winners, who managed to raise themselves above all the competition, took home a HK$20,000 Microsoft scholarship, an Xbox 360, a TechNet Subscription, admission to Microsoft TechEd Hong Kong 2007, a summer Internship position at Microsoft Hong Kong or Shanghai, or potential permanent job in Microsoft Shanghai and, of course, the Microsoft Server Champion winner's trophy for 2007.

In the student track, you will learn about business analytical concept, understand how Microsoft SQL Server 2005 function, as well as how Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 can be used to serve as a content management and collaboration platform. You will be tested against the knowledge, responses, hands-on deployment skills of how Microsoft SQL Server 2005 integrates with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows Vista.

To strengthen your IT skills and knowledge, Hands-On Labs (HOLs) will be provided. All final participants who passed the assessment will be entitled to a free Hands-on training. Participants will be challenged by exercises specially prepared to give you hands-on experience and Microsoft technical consultants will assist you during the HOLs to answer any questions and provide assistance.

Terms & Conditions:
- Permanent Job will only be applicable for final year student.
- To participate in the competition, students must form a team consisting of 2 students (the "Team"). Students should obtain endorsement or recommendation of their participation of this competition from their Professor, Tutor, Lecturer or Teacher (collectively as "professor"). Professor endorsement is evidenced by the inclusion of professor's name & contact information in the registration form. By including such information, the Team warrants and represents that they have the endorsement of the professor and consent of the professor to provide his/her personal information to Microsoft Hong Kong Ltd ("MSHK").
- Entry is only open to students, aged 25 years or under, engaged in full time study in Hong Kong or Macau.
- Student ID is required for verification process during the competition.
- All the seminar handout materials will be provided in English.
- Participants who make it into the final competition will be individually contacted by telephone and announced at this site on 10 March 2007.
- All members of the Team attending the Technical Seminar will be entitled to a Microsoft Press Book while stocks last.
- Student participants should have experience in computer networking and priority for registration will be given to those studying Engineering and/or Computer Science related subject and/or holders of Microsoft Certified Professional qualifications. Students may be asked to show a Student Identification Card at anytime of this competition and failure to provide a valid Student Identification Card may result in disqualification from the competition. MSHK employees and their direct family members are excluded from entry of the competition. By registering for the competition, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and signifying that you have read and understood them fully.
- MSHK has the right at any time to change any terms or conditions or discontinue the competition or any aspect of it. MSHK will announce all substantive changes by posting it on this website. Any changes or discontinuation will take effect from the date they are notified. Your continued participation in the competition will constitute acceptance of any and all of the changes made. If you do not agree with any change, you should stop participating in the competition. You agree that MSHK shall not be liable to you for any loss or damages arising as a result of any such change or discontinuation.
- Final Competition: Eligibility for the Hands-On Labs training workshop and final competition will be based on the Team's assessment test results. The details of the Teams that were successful will be published on here on 10 March 2007 and will be notified by email and / or telephone. The top 25 Teams (the "Finalists) judged by MSHK to have the highest assessment test results will be selected and invited to attend and take part in the Hands-On Labs training workshop and to compete in the final competition ("Final Competition") to be held at the Cliftons Central Training Centre, Level 33, 9 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong on 24 March 2007.
- All Finalists taking part in the Final Competition will be asked to perform a series of tasks related to the setting up of a personal computer with a virtual personal computer using Windows Vista and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 software. The winning Team will be determined by MSHK based on completion of the allocated tasks.
- IT Points - Each Team attending the Technical Seminar and the Hands-On Labs training workshop will also be eligible for the award of IT points which can be redeemed for prizes and gifts, which are described further here.
- MSHK judges' decision in relation to all matters and disputes connected with the competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. The details of the successful Teams and Finalists will be published on here and notified by email and / or telephone.
- The prizes are provided on "as is" "with all faults" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MSHK and its officers, directors, agents, parent and subsidiary companies, joint ventures subcontractors and employees (the "Microsoft Entities") make no warranties or representations of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, with respect to the prizes, including without limitation: implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title, no encumbrances, no liens and non-infringement.
- Each Team and its Team members will indemnify and hold the Microsoft Entities, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by any third party in connection with any breach by the Team or a member of the Team of these Competition Terms and Conditions, or the Team's and / or Team member's violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Microsoft Entities assume no responsibility for the Team or its members, and the Team and/or its members releases the Microsoft Entities from responsibility for, any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate information or for any loss, claim, damage or injury to person or property (including computer systems and servers) as a result of the Team and/or Team member's participation in this competition or utilizing the prizes or the conduct of the competition generally or as a direct or indirect result of the Team and/or Team member's error, any technical problem of any kind including communications or network failure, unauthorized access to, transferring or theft of data, whether caused by the Team and/or its members or associated with the equipment or programming used in the conduct of this competition. If, because of any such problem, this competition is not able to be conducted as planned and/or the competition's administration, security, fairness or integrity are compromised or affected, MSHK may immediately and without notice cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition and/or disqualify any Team and/or Team member involved in interfering or tampering with the conduct of this competition in any way.
- MSHK reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any Team and/or Team member which MSHK has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions or any instructions or directions that may be contained here, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the competition. Microsoft's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such Team and/or Team member are reserved.
- The competition and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong SAR and the courts of Hong Kong SAR shall have jurisdiction to hear all disputes relating to them.
- All parts of the competition and the Terms and Conditions are severable and the invalidity of any provision(s) shall not affect any other provision(s).
- MSHK treats the personal information provided by all Teams and Team members as confidential. If your personal information is provided only in connection with this competition then it will only be used for this competition, and will be destroyed afterwards. Each Team member authorizes MSHK to publish his or her details and personal information here for the purpose of notifying successful Team members. All Teams, Team members, prize winners, Finalists hereby grant MSHK the right to publish online and in print, their details, names, likeness and district without compensation.
