Windows 2000 READY computers have the power--and provide the easiest possible upgrade path--to run Windows 2000 Professional. And they come preinstalled with Windows NT Workstation 4.0, the most reliable desktop operating system available today.


What you get with a Windows 2000 READY PC
All Windows 2000 READY PCs meet the following requirements*:
  • Pre-installed with Windows NT Workstation 4.0 Service Pack 3 and the Windows NT 4.0 OPK supplement, which prepares computers for the proposed new European currency and includes bug fixes for Year 2000.
  • Include at least 64 MB of RAM
  • Meet Designed for Windows logo for Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and Windows 98 requirements (PC97 or higher)
  • Support Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) for laptops to increase battery life, among other benefits
  • Performance: Desktops come with at least a 300 MHz Pentium ®-class processor with 128k L2 cache or equivalent performance; laptops include at least a 233 MHz Pentium-class processor with 128k L2 cache or equivalent performance

* Note: The requirements listed above are preferred. They exceed the minimum requirements to run Windows 2000.
