Honam Petrochemical Corporation (HPC) produces plastics, synthetics, and basic chemicals and, following mergers with two other companies, was in the process integrating the various IT infrastructures. HPC deployed Windows Server® 2008 with the Cluster Continuous Replication function in Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007, to enable real time data recovery without investing in a costly remote recovery solution. By taking this approach HPC was able to reduce the IT costs incurred from the operation of its DR center by half, as well as greatly decrease the time for failure recovery from a maximum of four hours to within a minute, improving availability for its group companies.
