City Looks Forward to Enhancing Efficiency and Access to Government with Updated Mobile Phones

To provide public services more efficiently, the City of Miami wants to make it easier for employees to use their phones to complete routine tasks, and make it easier for citizens to interact with city agencies. By using Windows Phone 7, city employees have a rich, immersive, and intuitive user interface that allows them to quickly navigate from the Internet to email to the applications they use to do their jobs. In addition, the city’s IT department has begun developing applications for Windows Phone 7, such as an application that the public can use to report potholes, solid waste removal, or other issues to the city in real time; and an application that city inspectors use to record and file field reports using only their phones. With Windows Phone 7, the City of Miami is helping improve the lives of its citizens and giving its employees opportunities to grow as professionals.
