Judging Criteria - Taming Whidbey
 
It All Starts Here!
 
Listed below are the criteria our judges will use to evaluate your Contest Submissions. As you conceive and take part in the Taming Whidbey Contest, always keep this framework in mind. We advise you to print these out and post them as a reminder to guide your efforts.
 
An eligible contest submission shall constitute:
 
Completion of Quizzes 1 and 2;
Completion and submission of any kind of application, utility or game written in English that leverages Microsoft’s Whidbey tools and features and Windows Mobile 2003 platform;
Submission of a solution that runs on Windows platform as of the end of the Contest Term and throughout the Contest judging;
Submission of an application that is materially different and distinct from other Contest entries, as determined in Microsoft’s reasonable discretion; and
Submission of a solution that has not been commercially released prior to April 25th 2005.
 
Submitted applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
 
Usage of Microsoft’s Whidbey specific tools and features;
Broad Usage Factor; and
Innovativeness.
 
Please Note: All criteria are weighted evenly and are somewhat subjective. Application of the foregoing judging criteria to Eligible Entries in the Contest shall be at the judges’ reasonable discretions and, as to elements of the judging criteria involving matters of subjectivity, at the judges’ sole discretions. In the event of a tie, tie breakers will be based upon the highest score in the first judging criteria, continuing thereafter to each judging criteria in order, as needed, to break the tie. The judges' decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest, including but not limited to tie-breaking..
