Introducing Microsoft Office 365 for education. Get info.

Live@edu offers educational institutions free hosted, co-branded communication and collaboration services for students, faculty, and alumni. With 10 gigabytes (GB) of e-mail storage, it’s the no-cost Outlook Live e-mail service built on Exchange 2010. Live@edu provides the familiar and reliable Outlook Web Access (OWA) co-branded with a school’s name and logo, helping students build lifelong ties to their educational institution. And with 25 GB of additional file storage, Live@edu is more than just e-mail—it includes access to other services that enhance the school’s ability to collaborate and communicate, including calendars, document sharing, instant messaging, video chat, mobile e-mail, and more.

Live@edu is accessible through popular Web browsers for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. It is available at no cost, and it helps IT departments:

  • Reduce IT infrastructure costs, such as maintenance.
  • Spend less time maintaining e-mail systems and more time on strategic initiatives.
  • Offer common, familiar tools for students to communicate and collaborate with peers and faculty.
  • Keep data safer.
  • Meet high student expectations, including anywhere access to people and information.

Benefits

  • Save time and money. Live@edu is a no-cost, hosted service that can reduce ongoing maintenance costs and system updates.
  • Prepare students for the next step. Whether that next step is graduate school or the working world, Microsoft technologies can help students develop better time management skills, as well as a personal portfolio to showcase their great work.
  • Recruit and retain students. Provide students anytime, anywhere, any device access to the latest technology tools and services. With Outlook Live e-mail, students receive a school domain e-mail address that they can use today, and continue to use when they are alumni. The Windows Live ID gives them seamless access to other Windows Live services as well.
  • Build on what you already have. Live@edu easily integrates with existing Microsoft investments and programs, providing you with the choice and flexibility to combine on-premises and hosted solutions. And with built-in protection from viruses, spam, and phishing attacks, your school can move into the cloud while maintaining students’ and faculty’s online privacy.
