Bloesch
Software Architect
Visual Studio Team System
Anthony Bloesch is a software architect within the Visual Studio
Team System group at Microsoft. Since joining Microsoft, Anthony
has been involved with several tools efforts including the BizTalk
orchestration designer, and the Visual Studio 2005 class and
SOA designers. Currently Anthony is working on incorporating
support for metadata driven development into Microsoft’s
product offerings.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Anthony was a director at Visio
responsible for Visio’s database modeling and UML support,
a vice president of development at InfoModelers and a Research
Fellow at the University of Queensland. Anthony has published
numerous research papers and is active in the program committees
of various academic conferences. Anthony has a PhD in Computer
Science.
Eric Rudder
Senior Vice President - Server and Tools Business
Microsoft Corporation
Eric Rudder currently serves as senior vice president of Servers
and Tools, and is also responsible for leading the company’s
outreach to the developer community. Rudder and his team focus
on coordinating the overall programming model for the client
and server, creating the best tools for the .NET platform and
fostering synergies between Windows and the Windows Server System
offerings. In addition, the division will be chartered with
evangelizing the extended Microsoft platform through a variety
of content offerings including providing effective web-based
training for developers and IT managers.
Prior to leading the Developer and Platform Evangelism division,
Rudder was vice president of Technical Strategy working directly
with Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates on Microsoft’s
technical planning processes. He also has worked in several
other areas at Microsoft, including networking, operating systems
and developer tools, where he previously served as general manager
for Visual Studio.
Rudder graduated with honors from Brown University in 1988,
and currently lives in Seattle with his wife and two children.
Gaurav
Khanna
Technical Evangelist

Gaurav works as a Communities Developer Evangelist at Microsoft.
He owns the developer events, like TechED, MSDN, DevDays, that
Microsoft executes in India, in addition to working with developer
communities across the country to help them understand and use
Microsoft technologies better and be more productive. Before
joining Microsoft, Gaurav worked with Hewlett Packard as a Software
Engineer in the Telecom BU and was a MVP for over 2 years. He
speaks at various Microsoft events, runs www.wintoolzone.com
and occasionally writes for IT publications in the country.
Gurpreet
S. Pall

Gurpreet S. Pall is a Senior Director of Architectural Strategy
in the Developer and Partner Evangelism division. Prior to this
he was a Product Unit Manager in the Windows Engineering group
responsible for incubating Microsoft Systems Architecture (MSA)
and related infrastructure solutions & programs. Over his
14+ year career at Microsoft he has played leading roles in
development and delivery of several key products and solutions
to the Microsoft field, partners and customers. Products such
as Microsoft Excel/Office and solutions in the areas sales force
empowerment, knowledge management and IT services. He holds
a B-Com (Hons.) Degree from St. Xavier’s College Calcutta,
and a Masters of Management degree from Willamette University,
Salem, Oregon.
Jagdish Babu
Jagadish is Asia Pacific Regional Engineering Manager –
Solutions Engineering Group at Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd.
He is focused at the software solutions market across South
Asia, SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
After completing his studies in 1998, he joined Intel in India
as Application Engineer, at Internet Solutions Group, working
with the eBusiness solution Providers. He has worked in the
areas of Application Performance Optimization, 3D Graphic application
design and Optimization and Sizing and Optimization of large
e-business infrastructures. Areas of current interest are Computer
Architecture, Design of some of the latest Processors and platforms
and Performance Characteristics of applications deployed on
large infrastructure.
He did his B.Sc. in Electronics Bangalore University in 1992,
followed by Masters in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute
of Science in 1997.

Janaki Akella is an Expert Associate Principal in McKinsey &
Company’s Business Technology Office in Silicon Valley.
She has deep experience in IT Architecture and management and
enterprise application software. Janaki received a Ph.D. in
Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University,
and has published papers in the ACM International Symposium
on Computer Architecture, IEEE Transactions of Computer Aided
Design, Design Automation Conference, IBM Technical Report Series,
AT&T Bell Labs Technical Report Series, HP Technical Report
Series, and IEEE / ACM International Workshops.
John
Evdemon

Architecture Strategy Team
John Evdemon has been designing and deploying enterprise systems
for over 17 years. John is currently developing/evangelizing
Business Architectures and Standards for e-Government and Education
Industries as a member of the DP&E Architecture Strategy
Team. John also serves as Co-Chair of the Business Process Execution
Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS) initiative.
Prior to joining Microsoft John was CTO for a successful XML-based
e-business start-up and Director of XML/Web Services for a large
software integration vendor. John has designed and delivered
XML-based solutions for companies like JP Morgan, Visa and General
Motors. John was an Invited Expert with W3C where he helped
write the XML standard. John was also involved in the development
of e-business standards at OASIS, UN/CEFACT and X12. John served
as a writer and Editor-in-Chief of XML Journal while contributing
to several books and journals on XML and e-business. John is
an experienced speaker and teacher, having lectured at universities
and industry trade shows around the world. John is a member
of IEEE and ACM and with a BS in Computer Science and a Masters
in Information Security.

He has over Thirteen years of experience in software industry
in India, UK and USA. He is experienced in Technology Competence
building, Project Management, Product Management, Architecting
solutions, Team building for leading software organizations.
He is passionate about implementing leading edge technology
solutions through innovation, leadership and quality deliverables.
He has conceptualized and Implemented projects in Oracle, Microsoft,
and J2EE Technologies for Client Server, Web, Data warehousing
and Business Intelligence applications.
He last worked as Assistant Vice President in Polaris Software
Lab, India delivering SDLC projects for MNC Clients including
IBM Corporation, Nokia, Citibank N.A, Chevron, and Bata Canada.
Before joining Polaris he served in Kumaran Systems Inc as Director-Technology,
Goldwire Softweb P Ltd as Director-Technical. He is also a member

Max Morris is a Senior Program Manager in the Architecture Strategy
group. He is developing architectural guidance in the areas
of Service Oriented Management and Business Interactions, and
is responsible for providing architectural guidance to the Media
and Telecommunications industry sectors. Previously, Max worked
in the Windows and Mobility Divisions on communications technologies,
including NetMeeting, TAPI, and Mobile Information Server. Prior
to joining Microsoft in 1994, Max did research on high-speed
networking systems at Fujitsu Laboratories in Japan and at Motorola
Codex in Massachusetts.

Helland

Pat Helland has 25 years of experience in the software industry
and has been an architect at Microsoft since 1994. He has worked
for more than 20 years in database, transaction processing,
distributed systems, as well as fault tolerant and scalable
systems.
From 1982 through 1990, Pat worked at Tandem Computers and was
the Chief Architect of TMF (Transaction Monitoring Facility),
the NonStop System’s Transaction Processing implementation.
He was one of the founders of the team that implemented and
shipped MTS (Microsoft Transaction Server) now COM+. He was
the chief architect for Yukon’s SQL Service Broker product.
For the last year, Pat has worked in the Architecture Strategy
Team where he has focused on loosely-coupled application environments
and Service Oriented Architectures.

Ramkumar Kothandaraman is with the Microsoft India DP&E
team as an Architect. He has been with Microsoft for more than
five years. Working as a Solutions Architect in the Architecture
Strategy Team, Microsoft Corp. Redmond.. During this time, he
has also worked with software architects of various ERP vendors
and Customers helping them architect their product line for
Microsoft technologies. His prior experience includes designing
and developing an ERP product. His interests include Enterprise

Sheila oversees Microsoft India’s efforts to enable India's

Sheila joins the India subsidiary from Microsoft’s Corporate
headquarters in Redmond where she was the Worldwide Business
Manager for the Server and Tools business. Having worked on
Microsoft’s worldwide business strategy across various
business groups, Sheila has won acclodes for her work in Microsoft’s
Acquisitions, Investments, and Joint Venture business strategy
and plan.
Prior to Microsoft, Sheila worked in Silicon Valley as an Investment
Banker at Robertson Stephens where she worked with technology
companies. A Bachelor of Science graduate from Georgetown University's
School of Foreign Service.

Vijay Mehra is an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company’s

Having worked as an Evangelist and a consultant at IBM, Oracle

Firm (Maruti) prior to Joining IBM. With more than 15 years
of Industry experience and working with ISV’s and in High
End mission critical Enterprise projects he brings varied experience

Asia Pacific and Greater China Region.
He has got more than 10 years of experience with architecting
and development of enterprise applications across the Asia Pacific.
An expert in object-oriented design methodology, Yik Joon is
also an active participant of object-oriented technology conferences
and architect forums.
Yik-Joon holds a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering and
a Master degree in Business Administration majoring in Banking
and Finance.
